Posted at: Feb 3 2020 8:09PMJunagadh, Feb 3 (UNI) The body of a young lioness was on Monday found lying in an open farmwell at Shana Vankiya village, close to Jasadhar range and Dhokadva revenue beat of Gir forests in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat.
CCF D T Vasavada said the body of the lioness, aged between five and nine years, was fished out of the open well in the farmland of one Ramesh M Barvaliya in the village. Prima facie, it appears that the big cat had died due to drowning. The body was sent to Jasadhar animal care center for post-mortem.
Detailed investigation was on, Mr Vasavada added.
