Lindsay, who is a vocal animal enthusiast and supporter of global animal charities, generously donated his recognisable growl to the new advert, to help raise awareness of the new exhibit opening at Easter.
After lending his fittingly gruff tones to the film, Robert explained: "When ZSL asked me to support their Asiatic lion campaign I pounced on the chance. Land of the Lions is like stepping into India in the heart of the city; seeing and hearing the pride of endangered big cats up-close is an experience like nothing else.
“I’m passionate about protecting wildlife – enabling children to come face-to-face with magnificent animals like a lion is one of the best things you can do to inspire them about conservation.”
The exciting new advert from international conservation charity the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) follows a young boy (played by rising star Matteo Elezi) on a grey day out with his family. He spots a poster for the new Land of the Lions exhibit at ZSL London Zoo, and it miraculously springs to life for him. His excitement takes over and the whole family step through the poster to immerse themselves in Land of the Lions.
The new advert will air on ITV and Channel 4 in London and the South East, nationally on Sky, Cartoon Network and Disney, and in cinemas around the country from Monday 14 March.
