Sasan Gir (Gujarat), Dec 30 (UNI) President Ramnath Kovind on Sunday arrived here for having the glimpse of lions in Gir forests, the only abode of Asiatic lions.
President Kovind arrived here from Kutch where he had participated in the Ranotsav and stayed in the tent city in Dhordo. His chopper landed at Bhalchel.
Forest Minister of Gujarat Ganpat Vasava, PCCF and HoFF G K Sinha , Gujarat collector Saurabh Pardhi, SP Saurasbh Singh and Junagadh Mayor Adyashakti Majumdar were all present on the occasion to welcome him.
Kovind, who had visited Gir for the first time as President was also accompanied by his wife Savitaben and daughter Swatiben.
He is staying at Simh Sadan here tonight and would go to Somnath temple tomorrow.
